Details

You have discovered an extremely and unique industrial artifact! This old crusty piece of hardware is a pin used on the intake gate system at St Lucie Nuclear Power Plant in Hutchinson Island, FL. This section of solid steel was removed years ago as part of maintenance. The pin, installed in the 70's during the construction phase, was exposed to the harsh elements of ocean water and a powerful intake system. The years of corrosion and erosion are evident. It lived a long life but was replaced more than 20 years ago.

We acquired this cool piece of industrial history directly from the dive crew that originally removed the pin. It was torch cut underwater!! Colonial Metalworks made a beautiful polished stainless-steel stand with an engraved brass nameplate. The stand transforms this into an elegant piece of industrial history. Suitable for a museum yet affordable enough to be a special gift.
